DPC Journal SPOTLIGHT: Dr. Christy Kirkendol-Watson Launches LiveLight Lifestyle Medicine

Freedom Healthworks Expands Access to Direct Primary Care with New Practice

INDIANAPOLIS—With 15 years of medical and emergency care experience, Dr. Christy Kirkendol-Watson has opened her new Direct Primary Care (DPC) practice, LiveLight Lifestyle Medicine. Dr. Kirkendol-Watson, who is known by her patients as “Dr. Christy,” will provide internal hormone and primary care medicine, as well as weight management and aesthetics. The practice was built and launched in partnership with Freedom Healthworks, a direct primary care accelerator which has helped open and support an ever-growing list of successful DPC practices in the Midwest. LiveLight Lifestyle Medicine is located in Zionsville, just north of Indianapolis, and will offer patients the unrushed and unlimited care that is iconic to DPC, through a flat, $85 monthly fee without involving the red tape related to health insurance.

“My experience as a working physician in both the emergency room and in the intimate exam room lends itself to promising the best care — whether the patient faces a life-threatening illness or simple routine care,” said Dr. Christy. “I believe in treating the whole person, meeting them wherever they are in their journey toward better health.”

Dr. Christy spent the past four years leading a direct pay weight loss clinic. She decided to incorporate primary care services into the practice because these are services that are so central to many of her patients’ needs and health issues. Dr. Christy is a Zionsville native, and holds a bachelor’s degree in health administration from the University of Illinois, a masters of science in biology from Purdue University and completed her medical degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine.

“Dr. Christy’s passion and energy for her patients is unparalleled. She is a pillar in her community and a trusted physician,” said Christopher Habig, CEO and co-founder of Freedom Healthworks. “Dr. Christy brings a unique ability to her practice. She is able to help her patients feel and look their best. We continue to be fortunate to work with such a talented person.”

The launch of LiveLight Lifestyle Medicine was aided by Freedom Healthworks, which empowers physicians to open their dream DPC practice while enabling patients to find a physician that best suits their needs for a clear, monthly price. As a result, under the DPC model, patients reserve their insurance for large, unforeseen expenses like specialty physician visits and hospitalizations. DPC Physicians deliver personal, unrushed, focused care to each patient. Visits are on time, last as long as necessary, (usually between 30 minutes to an hour), and care is available whenever needed, in person or  remotely by text, phone, email, and digital apps.

Dr. Christy’s office is located at 12050 North Michigan Road, in Zionsville, Indiana. More information about her practice can be found at:https://www.livelightlifestylemedicine.com/direct-primary-care/
