His practice includes assisting various national enterprises (including life science companies) with regulatory compliance that encompasses healthcare, data, and physician integration structuring. Because private medicine practice and practice administrative support model formation work involves primarily federal laws, Jim handles these projects throughout the United States and coordinates with local counsel in states other than California (where he is licensed to practice law) regarding specific state law issues.

Jim provides preliminary guidance on practice formation options. His practice formation work involves legal guidance on the private direct medicine practice structure matching the physician’s vision of delivering care; assembling the physician-patient agreement, electronic communications agreement, and HIPAA Final Rule updated forms; and providing guidance on implementation of those forms. Jim also reviews and comments on all marketing communications to work toward ensuring the practice contract documents and related marketing materials express a consistent compliance posture.
