WHAT SOME DOCTORS LEARNED As a Result of COVID-19: When A Doctor Goes “Radio Silent” Patients Wonder Why and Leave the Practice.
PHOENIX (KPHO/KTVK) – When Kevin Pozo heads in for a doctor’s appointment, he knows everything from family history to a review of his latest lab tests and a check on his diet and exercise program are all on the table. “He goes over every number with you and compares it to last year,” he said of his physician, Dr. Brian Jorgensen. Annual exams with Jorgensen are at least an hour. He not only helps set up an individual wellness plan but he also personally calls patients with their test results. “The idea was to be able to provide the quality of care you wanted to do when you have a traditional practice but didn’t have time to do,” Jorgensen explained. He says he has that time since joining MDVIP, a concierge medical company, which, among other things limits, the number of patients he sees in his practice.
