“Traditional primary care doctors realistically spend half their work day on insurance-related administration, which is a clear imbalance in the healthcare system,” says Dr. Gold. “A DPC model allows me to provide the personal, thorough level of care that my patients want and need, but also makes financial sense from both the business perspective for my practice and healthcare spending perspective for the individuals and families we serve.”

Dr. Gold will lead three Town Hall Information Sessions about how a Direct Primary Care (DPC) approach to medicine—forgoing traditional health insurance for a flexible, membership-based fee model—offers an affordable, easily accessible healthcare option for individuals and employers while providing more personalized, higher-quality patient care. He is the first DPC physician in Massachusetts.

After serving the Marblehead area with a major hospital system for past seven years, Dr. Gold has reverted to “old school” medicine and no longer accepts insurance. Patients pay a flat annual rate that includes unlimited visits, same-day appointments, enhanced access via cell phone and email 24/7, and an array of primary care procedures including a comprehensive physical. Businesses can combine DPC with Group, or self-funded Group plans to increase employee health, reduce absenteeism and save money. Custom Medical Plans will be on hand to explain optional healthcare plans for individuals and employers that include membership to Dr. Gold’s practice.

Seating is limited so please RSVP to susan.abramovich@medfirstpartners.com or 1-800-939-1850 ext. 1 by January 1st to secure a spot. Individuals and healthcare providers interested in learning more about the benefits of a DPC model are also welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served.
