APRIL 8, 2014 – The Minnesota Physician-Patient Alliance (MPPA) is, with the American Association of Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS), co-spnsoring an important conference about the option of Direct Pay medical practice,”Thrive, Not Just Survive.” Any physician considering going to Direct Pay or wants to learn from colleagues who are doing Direct Pay now is encouraged to attend this informative Minneapolis conference.
The public and press are cordially invited. We will all learn about Direct Pay as an emerging medical practice trend and how to pay for such consumer-directed medical care.
The Thrive, Not Just Survive event is scheduled for Friday, May 9, 2014, from 12:30-6:00 PM, with a special dinner program in the evening – at the Marriott Hotel near the Mall of America in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Go to http://tinyurl.com/aapsmtg to see the conference agenda and speakers and to register for the conference. Scholarships are available for medical students, interns, and residents. And up to 6.75 CME hours are available for physicians.
The public and press is most welcome to attend this conference. And we encourage penetrating questions and lively discussions!
The “Thrive, Not Just Survive” event features over ten practicing physicians and surgeons who are Direct Pay and in independent practices — including both fee-for-service and concierge payment structures. They’ll explain why they chose Direct Pay, how they manage their practices, outcomes and results, and what their patients think of this way of practicing medicine. Previous conference attendees were excited to learn that one can practice medicine and enhance professional freedom and accountability to patients. Have a look at the YouTube video of last year’s 8/10/2013 conference at the Hubert Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs in Minneapolis at http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLMfr-BrhPzOftTOeSLi8w1_XEj4TNddPf
This year physician speakers will come from across the country and represent both primary care and specialty practices. Other conference speakers will discuss important legal issues, trends, practice innovations, and social/political considerations germane to doing Direct Pay medical practice or paying for it.
